FINAL molds/Surgeon appointment before surgery

Hey!
Just got done with the LAST  pre-op appointment with my surgeon! He came in holding two pictures in his hand. The first was my profile shot-how it is now- and the second was an idea of what my lower jaw may look like after surgery. Take a look! :D

So..not much of a difference! (: Obviously this isn't totally accurate, or the final "absolute" of what post-op will look like, but I am glad I have this picture to help me understand the possible results!

After seeing the pictures, my surgeon talked about complications that could happen in surgery, and told me what to expect with pre/post op. I'll write more about my hospital time (pre/post-op there) when I've actually gone through it, because there are so many things that could happen/not happen..so I'll spare the writing until that time.

AND..I did my final molds today...which took forever! Haha..they couldn't find any trays that would fit my upper and lower jaw, so it took a few tries on the top,but it wasn't too bad. I don't have a gag reflex, so I was fine with it. If you do, just know it WILL be uncomfortable, but you'll get through it. Just relax and know you can still breathe, and that you'll be fine? Yep. That's all I've got..ha (: I also signed consent papers, and took pictures for pre-op documentary.

They gave me my prescription papers to fill, and lab work papers to get done before surgery. All I have to do now is get my surgical wires/blood work done and I'm good to go!

It's CRAZY that I'm 6 days away from a new bite. I can't believe it. I'm excited, a little nervous.....and ready.

I'll blog again tomorrow about surgical wires for whoever is interested. Also, check out my vlogs on YouTube. I'll post the link below!

I'll  keep you posted,
Jess
